Memorial Day is today. Over the weekend I read a great biography on Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson, entitled, 'All Things For Good, The Steadfast Fidelity of Stonewall Jackson' by Steven Wilkins.

The book is divided into three parts.

Part one deals with the nitty gritty life of Jackson, giving a majority of this section to Jackson's brillance as a mastermind of the battle field.

Part two Wilkins writes on the character of Stonewall Jackson. Ulysses S. Grant said of Jackson, 'He was the most honest human being that I have ever known'. 'Jackson inspires more enthusiasmin in the men than General Lee', was said by a Virginia solder in Maryland. Jackson started a Bible study for slaves that lasted for 6 years from 1856-1861, every Sunday afternoon. It grew from 10 to over 100. As a result of that Bible Study 3 churches were planted. The study lasted 30 years after Jackson died. Some chapter titles in this section are, Christianity, Bible, Prayer, Happiness, Kindness, Humility, Integrity, Self-Denial, Principle, Duty.

The final part, the author writes about the 'Legacy of Stonewall Jackson' presented in just two chapters, 'the secret of leadership' and the lessons of leadership'.
