Been listening to this excellent biography on CD about the 2nd President, John Adams.

Even though a Unitarian, Adams sounds like my kind of guy:

'I want to see my wife and children everyday. I want to see my grass and flowers blossom. But above all except my wife and children......I want to see my books.'
